Very nice forums you have set up here. Congratulations!
I have been looking for like-minded people in my area for some time, but to mix the words "militia" with "Oklahoma" conjures up so many images of the likes of Timothy McVeigh and the murderers he associated himself with. It's kind of a taboo subject down here. I have met with many people that feel as I do about this great nation, but not many are willing to do anything other than sit back in their armchair and shake their fists. I guess a little about me should be in order. First, I served in the US Navy for 12 years. Was a flight deck coordinator on 2 aircraft carriers and the Line Division Leading PO for the Ghostriders, VF-142(Alas, the tomcat has gone the way of the doe-doe). I served 3 tours in Gulf War 1 on an airstrip in northern Saudi, not far from the Kuwaiti border. My last tour was at Pearl Harbor as an imagery analyst at the Joint Intelligence Center for the Pacific. I am the proud father of 3, my oldest(daughter) is married to a soldier serving as a medic in the Army. My wife is also a veteran, formerly an Army medic as well. She is now a special needs teacher working with disabled children. My 2 younger children are still in school, and my 15 year old son is chomping at the bit to serve his country. I couldn't be more proud, even with the state our country is in today. I write a conservative article that goes out every few weeks(more like a rant column I am not an anti-government, anarchistic separationist. However I believe in being prepared for whatever the good Lord may throw our way. I have been in search of a group in this part of the country that regularly gathers, discusses topics of politics, disaster preparedness, football(Very serious down here Before you ask, here it is - The 1911 is my 1st choice for a sidearm(I carry a Springfield with a 4 inch barrel), although I also carry a Cougar 9mm as well as a Walther P22(backup gun). The AK may be the most reliable of the bunch for self feeding rifles, but me, I'm an old-school Armalite AR fan, and I also love the Tactical version of the mini-14. My 14 has the collapsible stock, 4 tactical rails, red-dot scope and is a dram to shoot with. I have found that the best weapon choice of all time is the human mind, and we must keep it honed sharp as a razor if any and all of our battles are to be won. To all those here that are currently on active duty, God Bless you and keep you safe. To those that have done their service, I say Thank You and Hooyah! -------------------- Go not where the path may lead: Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

With that attitude, you will fit in fine around here.

Welcome! And what a great entry on introducing a little about yourself.

I too am a newbie, while living in N TX, I have property S OK that I frequent as often as my budget allows me. Building an off grid home. Preparing as quickly as possible, for any possibility.
I have no military or law enforcement experience, so I cant boast about any of that type of far off ability. While I am just a civilian, at 52 with 2 grown daughters, I can boast about my love of my country, my fear that I hold for it's survival at this point, and my willingness to go to the end of my time to ensure my daughters have as many of the freedoms I grew up with. Maye at some point we could meet in S OK, and chew the fat. -------------------- live life while you can

Thank you, one and all, for the warm welcome! It gets SO disheartening when one hears from ones neighbors "We HAVE to do something about the way this country is being torn apart!", but when one makes suggestions as to what We, The People can do, all one hears is "I don't have time for that". (Can you guess who "one" is?)
In my articles I plead with people all across this great nation to get out, learn their rights and responsibilities as American citizens, write their Senators, Congressmen and even their Governor. I ask them to go to the rallies and Tea Parties. I beg them to get a copy of the Pocket Constitution, memorize it, and keep it with them(You can get a free copy of the US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence from the Heritage Foundation online). I do not ask my readers to do anything that I have not already do myself. I keep my elected officials email addresses in my list of contacts on my email, and I let them know(quite frequently) just what I think about any and all subjects concerning our country and my State. My kids think it's cool when they bring in the mail and tell me "Dad, you have another letter from Governor Henry/Senator Coburn/Senator Inhofe!" I do feel very fortunate, though, to live in a state where my elected representatives DO take the time to read my concerns and reply in a friendly and timely manner. Doc G, welcome! Just because you are a "newbie" to this and have been a civvie all your life does not mean that you don't love this country any less than I do, or that you do not see a need for the American People to stand up for their rights as citizens and human beings. I would welcome the opportunity to visit with you whenever you find yourself up here in the "North 40" -------------------- Go not where the path may lead: Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

Really, it's ok about the Cowboys. I have gotten use to it since Jerry bought the team. We will never be a super bowl contender as long as he owns it because he has his fingers in everything about it.
I will shoot you a private email so we can talk offline. -------------------- live life while you can

Hi Alienator! Did you get hit by the storm last week? We went without power for 5 days here. Still about 5000 homes without electricity in our county.
If you would pm me your email address I will add you to my mailing list for my articles. . -------------------- Go not where the path may lead: Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.
